PIC Qualifications E-mail

Due to the nature of the aircraft, members must be trained and qualified to fly each aircraft type.  Fly History offers flight training and qualification services through the use of selected check-pilots possessing specific qualifications in the aircraft offered.

To operate Fly History aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), the program qualifications are as follows. It is important to note that the Fly History program is designed for pilots to fly program aircraft from Day One.


T-34 Mentor

  • Rating
Private Pilot Aircraft Single Engine Land (ASEL)
  • Total Time
500 hours
  • Retract Time
100 hours
  • Make/Model Time
    (Time in Type)
One of the following: 10 Hours 5 Hours Dual Instruction
  • Additional Requirements
Must pass checkout flight

 

Stearman PT-17

  • Rating
Private Pilot Aircraft Single Engine Land (ASEL)
with Tailwheel Endorsement
  • Total Time
750 hours
  • Tailwheel Time
50 hours dual in the PT-17 w/300 landings
Alternate limits apply for experienced tailwheel pilots
  • Make/Model Time
    (Time in Type)
10 Hours (Dual or prior PIC)
  • Additional Requirements
Must pass checkout flight

 

AT-6 Texan

  • Rating
Private Pilot Aircraft Single Engine Land (ASEL)
with Tailwheel Endorsement
  • Total Time
1000 hours
  • Retract Time
250 hours
  • Tailwheel Time
100 hours total TW with at least 50 hours in Stearman or Waco
Alternate limits apply for experienced tailwheel pilots

25 Hours (Dual or prior PIC)

Fly History reserves the right to modify aircraft qualification requirements at any time.  In addition, members must maintain currency on all qualified aircraft and pass recurring checkout flights according to Fly History policies prior to operating as PIC.
